The personal version: For as long as I can remember, I have had both a fascination with the modern scientific study of human behavior, as well as a personal calling to mysticism and ancient somatic traditions. This blend of passions is present in everything I do. I believe that true resilience is rooted in embodiment – the more we deepen our relationship to our mind and body, the greater clarity, creativity, and courage we will find.

I’m a coast-swapper, originally from a small town in Maine, now dwelling in Oakland, California. I’ve been doing an accidental tour of the country and world along the way – I’ve lived stateside in the northwest, midwest, southwest, deep south, and overseas in mainland China. I’ve been driven by wanderlust and an unquenchable thirst for experiences that leave me awestruck since I was a child. I love design, extra spicy chai tea, meditation, long distance running, and my chubby tabby cat named Sati. Sometimes I dabble in poetry and prose to balance it all out.

My favorite quote is probably this one from Henry David Thoreau:

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life…”
